Spurs take game 1 of the 2013 NBA Finals 92-88. Spurs had only 4 TOs....4!! If you're Indy, you've got to be mad you let an opportunity go via so many turnovers. I mean Pacers should have won their series 4-2. But it doesn't matter now, I was just thinking. Anyway, Spurs look good and again Miami's supporting cast must step up! DWade looked good for what I saw but laid down in the 2nd half. Idk. I don't take game 1 that serious. Game 2 is the game I'll definitely be paying attention to. If you're Miami you don't want to go to San Antonio down 0-2. All Spurs would have to do is win 2 out of 3 in San Antonio and it's done.

I don't know which is more thrilling to watch: San Antonio's offense when it's hitting on all cylinders, or Miami's defense.  Both were on dynamic display last night.  It almost made me not care who won.  Both teams are so unselfish on both sides of the ball.  It's how the game is supposed to be played.  I'm glad the finals came down to these two teams.

Can a player be too unselfish?  LeBron looked like he couldn't wait to get that ball out his hands last night.
18 assist for a player of his caliber?  It seems like a bit much to me.

To me, that's what makes him so great.  He wasn't afraid to shoot the ball last night.  Leonard gave him problems when he posted up, but instead of forcing bad shots, he sent the ball to the open player.  He only had 10 assists, though, but messed around and got a triple-double.  Miami didn't lose because he shot too little, in my opinion.

I agree with you too. As I've been saying, this series rises and falls on the supporting cast of Miami. If they are on fire this series is a wrap.

I'm sure Sportscenter would be more than happy to do so. Or, Google.  ;D

One word: blueprint. The supporting cast stepped up, Lebron did his job, Spurs continued turning the ball over and that's that. I said it on twitter last night: last night was the blueprint to Miami's repeat title. When the supporting cast is on fire, Miami is unstoppable!

You are right he only had 10 assists.  Ten assists is good.  I guess points are points no matter from whence they cometh.  However those turnovers late in the game trying to make an assist or "the right play", as in that all-star game turnover are starting to stand out.

I guess it's fair to fault a bad pass just as much as it is to praise a good one.  My problem with the way people analyze LeBron is they comment on the fact that he passes instead of shooting.  The criticisms usually come when the person he passes to misses the shot.  It's not LeBron's fault the person missed the shot.  Why not criticize the player for missing the shot, as opposed to criticizing LeBron for passing it?

Lionel Hollins out in Memphis. According to what I read it boiled down to the team feeling like he "is not prepared to foster the sort of collaborative relationship that the Grizzlies' new management team want to have with their coach." Ok, but here's the thing: the management wanted Hollins to embrace the statistics-heavy approach and he's more of a "gut" guy. Who's the one not willing to collaborate? Both? Maybe, but still. The record speaks for itself.

That's a dawg gone shame. ::) I don't know what's going on in the NBA these days, good coaches are being fired or let go for trivial reasons. Maybe it's just me. *shrug*

SONNNNNNNNN....I almost spoke in another language watching my Spurs play tonight!!!!! As long as I've been watching them play, that was UNDOUBTEDLY one of the BEST performances I've ever seen from them. My face hurts from smiling so hard. Danny Green and Gary Neal have left me speechless. Unforgettable night. This championship is ours.

Because, in the mind of the media, the 'great' ones take the shot, not pass it up.

Not saying it's right, just sayin' it is what it is. *kanyeshrug*
