Police: W. Pa. robber prayed with disabled victim
« on: October 06, 2011, 09:14:19 AM »
NEW CASTLE, Pa. (AP) — Police say a man stopped to pray while robbed a woman in a wheelchair after breaking into her western Pennsylvania home.

Thirty-two-year-old Christopher Perretti II, of New Castle, is in the Lawrence County Jail awaiting a hearing on charges including burglary and robbery. Court records don't list an attorney.

The New Castle News reports Perretti forced open a door at the woman's house about 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 30. Once inside, he demanded money and the woman gave him $5, but he wanted more. The woman told police she began praying as Perretti pushed past her to take $20 from her purse. Perretti apologized — though he didn't give the money back — and knelt down as she prayed before running away.

Police found him a short time later.

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;  Colossians 3:23

Not sure what to make of this.  Could be that he isn't a horrible person but committed this robbery out of desperation.  Could be that he's a nutjob.   :-\

Surely he had to have some sort of beliefs/teaching down inside of him. The lord convicted his spirit.

Yeah, a lot of good people do bad/crazy things out of desperation. Times are hard. Maybe he felt bad (convicted) but still didn't have enough faith to give the money back.

I'm glad the lady prayed, and I'm glad he joined her.

Hope he repented and I hope he is changed.

Yes indeed. I was just reading this morning about biblical numerology and at one point it was talking about how humans are the make-up of body, soul, and spirit.  That spirit was probably tugging on him but the body got the better of him. Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

On a not so serious note.  Could you not pray with me for 12 minutes?  He probably got up too early before the prayer was done.  The prayer may have ended as such.  "Lord, I pray they catch that fool before he gets too far down the skreet.  You know I need my $25 Lord.  In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.  He never knew what hit him.

I agree with the above poster.

yep yep, may also be the reason why he was caught so quickly, and why he doesn't have an attorney.

That touched me, I feel for him.   And her.  But I'm glad she's safe.
