How was church? 09/16/2012

OMG! We had one of the best worship experiences we've had probably this year! Pastor preached a convicting message out of Malachi 3:13-18 about the difference between those who serve God and those who don't. The Spirit moved in a mighty way! We had the typical black church worship experience but the 10:45 service ended with alter prayer (something that doesn't happen much under our new pastor) and intercessory prayer. I mean the Lord moved in a mighty way! Praise & worship at both services (but especially at 10:45) was amazing! To be honest, my spirit was kind of down for some reason but after praise & worship my spirit was lifted!

To be honest, I've been a little concerned about my pastor's philosophy or some things including our worship service (he's revamped the program to take some "fluff" out but sometimes it feels kind of rushy too) but today he allowed God to have free reign and it was amazing!!!

To God be the glory!!!!

Both services this morning were amazing.
First, there were more people in church than I ever remember...both services were 500 to 600 each, easy...and 2nd service there were at least 10 people receiving Christ as Savior.
The band was great...just great...I'm so blessed to play with the people that God's assembled at our church.
Last week pastor deviated from his prepared message...this hasn't happened in MANY YEARS...and while it caught a lot of us off-guard, it was on point and very necessary in our culture. It was all about parenting, children, relationships, love and respect, and doing life God's way.
This week was a continuation with more of a focus on the parent/child relationship and how we are ALL to be obedient children to our Heavenly Father.
I pray that God's word has a positive impact on so many families in and around our church.

had a few words with my wife before i left for church so i wasn't in a great mood at first and then during service i realized my pastor was looking at me so i had to shake my head and remember why i was where i was after that it was good

Church was good, but why does it have to be so loud?
My mother goes to a loud church, and although their music is top flight, Id never join a loud church. Then I went to my church yesterday, and they were doing the same thing. And lately Ive been playing for a Cameroonian church it is also very loud. Whats the deal?

Heaven is far.  They just want to make sure God can hear them.
