Video Editing Software for church?
« on: November 04, 2011, 11:03:26 AM »
Good morning family,

I wanted to know if any of you guys make promo videos or commercial videos for your church. Which software do you use and how do you make a easy intro video?

I'm trying to learn how to do this for my church sense they're trying to have something for the website...

I haven't found an affordable, user friendly software for this task.  I'm still using Windows Movie Maker, and it. is. tedious.

I have a friend who has a Mac, and the program that comes with it seems to be more suitable for this type of work.  Don't know what it's called, though.

Premiere Elements is pretty powerful, and cheap. You can do some real nice stuff on there. Comes with lots of effects, and there are tons of forums, and youtubes available to teach you how to get started and do fancy animation tricks. It runs just under $100 new, but Id advise you to get the bundle ($120) that comes with Photoshop Elements too, because editing video and pictures go hand in hand. Try to get it on Amazon, because you can get older versions. They're currently on version 9, but I have 7 and its still good to me. Ive even seen good features in PE 4.  Of course only get the old version if $129 is too much.

I use Corel Videostudio pro...it works great! Windows 7 has Movie <aker live...I don't like it. I prefer the original movie maker.  I also use Adobe After effects cs 5.5, but that's very expensive...You can do a bunch with Corel VideoStudio.

I dont use it personally, but they use it to edit footage from 2 cameras and send the dvd to the TV station, so The quality is good, but I dont know how easy it is to use.

for it to happen.
troof is, whatever you get, yo gotta put time in the woodshed with it, and not expect VOILA! for it to just work.

yes, reading the manual will help.
