Today in class, one of my classmates said "Mark Twain once said 'the lack of money is the root of all evil.'" I was about to go IN on her, but something told me to google it first. I did, and I found that Mark Twain DID say that. What in the world??? Was he misquoting the Bible? Or was that intentional? Either way, booooooo on him for trying to change up the Word. The lack of money isn't the root of ALL evil. That's almost the opposite of what the Word says.

Depends on how you look at it. When some people have no money and they're desperate, they will do anything to get it. When you have money you don't have to do crazy or evil things to get it. I don't think that contradicts the word.

OAN, I just watched a video and thought about you. I would give you the link, but I like you too much to bore you like that. It was a 2 hour lecture from Stanford University on Darwinism (it was a required lecture for class). Anyway, they talked about the eugenics movement and Margaret Sanger and how Darwin wanted to purify the population by getting rid of all the weak links. It was SOOOO interesting (after I finally got past the lady's boring voice). It was everything you're always preaching about. LOL. Oh and she talked about how Darwin and them wanted to sterilize the unfit and kill them off and encourage the fit to be fruitful and multiply. Very interesting stuff. You're not as nutty as I thought you were.

Yeah, Twain was a satirist.  So, his statement may very well have been tongue in cheek.  I'd like to see the context though.

Wasn't Mark Twain an atheist, though? If so, I can see why he'd, intentionally, misquote the Bible.

Our 10:45am service ended at like 12:01...LOL! We had a guest speaker and it will probably be the last time someone outside of the pastor chooses a guest speaker.

We are having a "Super Soul" sunday next week and we get to wear our favorite team shirts (pro or college). Since my pastor is a huge Miami Hurricanes fan and I'm a huge Florida State fan, in church he says that anything that says FSU is unholy.

So I ask the drummer to play the drum portion of the tomahawk chant and I play the melody. Pastor couldn't do anything but laugh.
