Just got an email from my PR professor for a new discussion about the Mary J. Blige Burger King commercial. Guess who's the only black person in the class? 

Been there before...lol. I remember in speech class one night, this spanish guy did a speech on welfare and basically said that black people should stop looking for handouts...I was the only black person in class that night.  Everyone thought I was going to turn into the "angry" black man, but I kept my composure and my facts to myself.

Here is the latest update in my quest to keep the LGM community aware of the progress of Norfolk Southern's heritage locomotive paint program (because I know that you all are just so anxious to see the progress on this front  ).

The Norfolk & Western Railway is the latest addition to the roster of specially painted diesels.  Along with the Southern Railway, the N&W is a direct predecessor of today's Norfolk Southern Railway.  At one point, the N&W almost merged with the C&O/B&O (which were eventually operated under the Chessie System umbrella and are now part of CSX) in a competitive move against the ill-fated Penn Central Railroad.



I live not too far from a Norfolk Southern line.  Hopefully I can catch one of these in person.

A very easy appetizer. I'll have to make that for the next soiree. I did some mini quiches and cheesy bacon biscuits this past weekend for a party. The quiches were DIVINE. The biscuits... either you loved them or you hated them. Most ppl loved them and had seconds and thirds, but two friends of mine absolutely hated them. I thought they were ok for a first attempt, but a little dry. Next time, I'll add some garlic, use cheddar instead of pepperjack, and some oil - and maybe put some butter on top as they come out of the oven. VERY easy recipe, though.

Anyway, NRC but I'm going to the Sundays Best auditions this weekend. I hate stuff like that, but for some reason, I'm SUPER excited.

It's at Greater Travelers' Rest (E. Dewey Smith) in Decatur. I'm going with a friend.

What was your experience like last year? My friends are lining up at like 3a, and I think I might be a little old for that kinda carrying on. I think the doors open at 6, so I'll probably get out of bed around 7ish. Just kidding... but 3a is a bit early for me....
