NRC, but I think (except the money) I'm tired of choir anniversaries. We had 13 groups and by the time the last group got up the church was almost completely empty. It lasted 3 1/2 hours...SMH!
Well that's where you (they) went wrong. Hmm. Something just came to mind. BRB, gotta go tweet it. LOL. Okay, I'm back. Yeah, 13 is not just too much, it's just not a smart move at all. Very poor decision. One of the greatest disasters of my career was working with an artist who had 14 invited choirs, groups and solo artists for his 10 year anniversary. It was disastrous and everyone blamed me, though I had absolutely nothing to do with it AND tried to tell the artist that was way too many guests. You want to allot 15 minutes for each of your local groups (you're only giving them 10, though, but you're allotting 5 as a buffer to get on stage, get situated, switch musicians, host comments, etc.), and 25-35 for groups that traveled from out of state. I can't think of any circumstance where I'd invite more than 6 because honestly, who wants to sit through all that???
Btw, if I had a nickel for every time you said you were tired of choir anniversaries... LOL....
