I've never actually met a train nerd before. I remember growing up, always hearing about how little boys like trains, and seeing those "Big Ol' Engines" (or whatever) videos advertised on TV, and wondering "Who would actually buy a video about... trains?"

It's kind of cool, though.

For some reason, I thought FS was not black.

Maybe bc we're FB friends, I never even considered he might not be black. It never even crossed my mind. Everything he talks about identifies with black culture... well, more with black culture than anything else. *shrug*

I was on the subway once reading a book about the Southern Railway, and there was this one white dude who had this look of disbelief on his face.  It's like he would have believed to see a black president in his lifetime before he'd see a black man with an interest in trains.
