Yeah, I think this stuff started long before HDTV (like with airbrushing in magazines, etc) but HDTV may have caused it to impact other areas or brought it to a different audience's view.

I'll say "good" is a relative term.  HDTV is that different. You see stuff in an HD broadcast (on an HDTV) that you won't see in standard definition.  The other day, wifey and I were noticing the difference in the coloration of different actor's teeth.  LOL.  So, guys like Costas, who are aging, you will notice the new wrinkles, sun spots and grey hairs easily with an HDTV.  Unfortunately, that also works against them when they have some type of augmentation.  That's just as noticeable too!

Tell ya what, I don't own an HDTV, and I noticed the (really bad) work.  I can't imagine what that looks like via HDTV. Yikes.  :-\
