I typed something, but I couldn't get my words together, so I'll just keep it to myself. It was along the lines of what LL said, but from a woman's perspective. Oh well... either way, I agree with LL and would add that there's really no way for this to end badly, so you may as well go for it.

Well what I mean is that even if she's not interested, it's still not a bad thing because it moves her out of the way (of his mind/heart) so he can find the right one. What I typed and erased was that often, the ones who aren't interested end up being your best friend/favorite sister/godmother of your kids, etc. :D So you don't really lose, you win... you may not see it in the moment, but in the big picture, you win.
