(to be fair I did actually succeed by making a phone call using google voice but not in the manner I wanted) I am trying to set up a telephony server to make calls to members of my church if a meeting is canceled. I want to use google voice as the VOIP provider. But so far the different software packages I have used I have not been able to both make a call and able to have a message recorded and then replayed to all the members.... gotta keep plugging away I know it is possible I am just cheap and don't feel like paying if I don't have to (paying in time though)

I had no idea how to do any of the things but this being the information age I have successfully called my google voice number, left a message, and had the computer then send the recorded message to my wife! YES! Total money spent = $0

Time invested  umm I think I started this about a month ago ... lets say I averaged 1 hour a day (I had a lot of failed attempts and there was a learning curve) so about 30 - 31 hours? ... at the federal minimum wage level that is 7.25*30 = $217.50 ... hmm maybe I should've just paid someone LOL!

Especially since google voice may only be around for 2013 ... lets see (sorry I am rambling now)

callingpostmessage costs $0.06 per call for a 35 second message.

How many calls are necessary before $217.50 is spent?

is 3625 calls ...

... I attend a small church LOL, 30 calls a month would be more than sufficent to let people know if there were any last minute changes or to remind everyone about a special event LOL

but if I attended a larger church than this would make more sense ...

Oh well maybe I will put something on craigslist to see if I can make some money doing this since I learned how to do it

final testing was a success, all four calls went through going to present it to my church to see if they want to use it (they may not since we are so small) Then I just need to find a pretty voice for the prompts the ones provided sound like your voice mail and my voice sounds like a robot no serious it does think of a nerdy robot and you have my voice LOL okay maybe not that high pitch but you pretty much got it

Now I need a new project ... going to read to bible for some inspiration.

NRC: Reactivated my fitday.com account ... it crashed on me the second day  . So now I just created an account of sparkpeople ... I said i am 187lbs and 5'8". It asked me if I had a goal for a weight or I could leave it blank and it would suggest a goal... So I left it blank ... it suggested that I should weigh 150lbs ...

I haven't weighed 150lbs in like 10 years! At 150lbs my wife was complaining that my hip and ribs were bony and wasn't comfortable. ... yeah going to readjust that goal ... I think I just want my body fat % to be between 10-15%.

Does anybody know how to change the "Device and Printer" settings in Windows 7 so that double-clicking on an icon brings up the "*Device* Settings" dialog instead of the "Properties" dialog?

no clue, i always right click then select the settings I want since some devices have multiple settings dialogs
