Recently 2 of my praise & worship team members moved away and we went from 2 tenors 2 altos and 1 soprano and a beautiful harmonized group to now 1 tenor and 2 altos. (1 of the altos sings tenor, alto, or soprano not that she was told to but she can't hold her note). That's ok though cause she has a very willing spirit. So far our sound is good on our worship songs but our fast songs not so good. I thought maybe I could introduce more unison songs since we only have 3 voices to make our sound fuller. I would be greatful for some suggestions or any other input. Thanks
Regarding the
bold type. I had one of those. I called her my sopraltenor. She mimiced the part of whomever was standing next to her, so I had to take that into account for EVERY song.
Back to your question:
You could do
Souled Out, especially if you have musicians or congregation members who can sing it along with you.
You could do
We're Blessed. The original recording is actually slow, but it's an easy song to do fast and with high energy.
You could do a number of Israel & The New Breed Songs (warning....most are in E and most pianist / organists I know H-A-T-E E). The more popular ones are
Friend Of God and
You Are GoodIf your tenor has a good solo voice you might get away with
Get Ready For Your Miracle by Norman Hutchins
You could do
I Will Bless The Lord At All Times by Joe Pace. Sounds EXACTLY like the Staple Singers
I'll Take You ThereThat's all I got this morning. If something else pops into my mind I'll add it later.
