Playing Riffs
« on: October 14, 2003, 05:55:55 PM »
Someone emailed me about playing riff here's what I wrote.

Not really I'm not really a person that does alot of riffs but I usually use the major and blues scales to run riffs. You can also use broken chords to run riffs. One trick is to play the scale or melody and slide your finger a half step above the note you are trying to play. Ex If you are play ing the melody C,D,E instead play C,D,Eb,E or if you are playing C,E,G,A then play C,Eb,E,Gb,G,Ab,A. You can also do this concept in reverse. Ex If you are playing the melody or a scale using C,G,E (moving down from C to E) you can play C,Ab,G,E or if you were to play C,G,E,C you could play C,Ab,G,E,Db,C.
Vision without action is just day dreaming. I miss practicing.
