Passing Chords

I learn this progression from off the internet which has a dim7 trick added to it played only along the fifth string.
Here is the chord progression: Key: Bb
Bbmaj7-(Bdim7)-Cm7-(Dbdim7)-Dm7-Ebmaj7-(Edim7)-F7-(Gbdim7)-Gm7-(Abdim7)-Am7b5-Bbmaj7
I highlighted the dim7 chords so you can know where there at in the chord progression.
Be bless

Yeah, the diminished 7 chord is a common passing chord used in gospel.
Thanks though.

And it can usually be substituted for using a 2nd inversion major or dominant 7 chord if the diminished 7 adds too much tension.

I explain this to keyboard players. That's why if you know your basic scale chords in every key you can go out of the scale and not have to think that hard about it.
