Because that would imply that the above statement is a pretty cool guy; that Eh absolute truths and doesn't afraid of anything.

LOL!

Sketch, what???

Actually I don't think so. I think Sketch is older than RJ.

If Sketch's profile information is correct, he's 5 years behind.

I am not 100% certain whether I agree with my first post or not ... one thing I am discovering is how many subtle things happen in media/tv/internet/daily life that goes counter to many of the basic tenents of Christian faith but that we find a way to say it is okay....

"Son, I am disappoint" is a meme.  His choice of words was deliberate.

Ftr, I sat back and laughed because I knew it was a meme....

Okay, now that we're doing this informational session, can someone tell me what a "meme" is? I saw that in that 25th birthday gif article, and I've seen it here a few times. What is that???? Like, what does it mean?

Barbershop talk ... random thought was ... interesting was wondering if anyone else had a similar opinion.

Superheros such as Spiderman/Superman essentially become the being in the movies that people would call on when something goes awry. Thus this theory (or some guy's random musing) says that people are replacing Jesus with the idea of a superhero  ....

it may be easier to see it this way by looking at the darker side. This same theory goes on to the reason why vampires/werewolves are making a lot of movies/tv shows. Again the same premise applies a coordinated attack to remove the notion that Jesus is needed.

Lets take the movie twilight the first thing is that evil is romanticize and it perverts the idea of evil as if it is good. By doing this people start to accept that there is more than one way to do something and this way in the movie isn't that bad and that it makes sense.

So is there anyone else on here who ever thought that someone/something was attempting to use superheros to dilute the image/need of Jesus in the american psyhce?

.... there was one flaw in my mind about this whole thing and that is as long as you can separate fact from fiction no worries.
It's possible.  I never really paid it much attention.  For me, it's just entertainment.  I know who my Savior is.  For the non-believer, the image is already diluted or non-existent, else they'd be believers.

Let's assume that it is such an attempt, what concerns me more is that not enough of us believers are showing others Christ through our testimonies and our lives.

A meme is any idea or behavior that spreads on the internet.  It might be a pic (trollface), gif (Haters gonna hate), phrase (I c wut u did there), etc.

They're a part of internet culture.
