I think you're confusing the words compassion and coddling.  Youre the only one that assumed that when ppl spoke of love and having compassion, that it meant we tip toe around and softly speak and try not to upset them.  That also seems to be a large basis for your argument, yet no one has said anything about "babying" ppl.  Just that the christian hardcore approach does not always work (Prov 18:19).  You seem to uplift your way of doing things yet deem others way of reaching "weak" which is rather offensive, esp. in LM's case, where she has lead homosexuals and others to the Lord with her approach.  It also seems that once she stated her experience, you somehow tried to "soften" her witness, by separating the two types of homosexuals being spoken of, as if now the ppl she referred to were somehow weaker or in a softer state than the protesters, AT THE SAME TIME presenting a consdescending tone as if she is somehow less knowledgeable in the Word (which is kinda why she was like, you dont know her).  You gotta get to know ppl, read around, do a lil research.  And in a parallel, thats what we sometimes have to do with the angry, "God hating" type of ppl.   See their angle, to see where that hate lies and how we can best combat that and reach them.  You're not going to reach hate with a big Hebrews light saber.  Just sayin.

I will tell you all my specific disagreement with LaylaMonroe and the ENTIRE reason for our disagreement.

Many posts earlier she mentioned that she does not believe that Gays who h8 Christians do so because of some sort of spiritual conflict. She said she beleives its because of the bad attitude of the Christian.

I disagree with this because itt assumes that all Christians are judgemental and lead gays to hate us.

The spiritual Conflict need not be ignored Jesus Himself said that people would h8 us just because we follow Him.

I think the chick-fil-a boycotts are related to this conflict.

I mentioned two groups of homosexuals because earlier in the discussion she said that gays encounter judgmental christians and those christians upset the gays.


That may be the case for some gays but you cannot say all gays h8 Christians for that reason!

You get it wrong every time. Your analytic skills leave a lot to be desired. That's the nicest way I can put it. Please, just stop. Use the quote feature, then use words like "this makes me feel like..." or "when she says this, I feel like she really means that...."

This lends a lot more authenticity and reason to your posts than just saying random stuff and "analyzing" it haphazardly and clumsily. The conclusions you're drawing make absolutely no sense, so using those words I suggested in the first paragraph will really help. Seriously. It will. Otherwise, it's going to be hard for anyone to take you seriously because the many, many flaws in your posts, especially when it comes to assumption, deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning and analyzing, are glaringly obvious.

I didn't say you mentioned hating gays, but since you brought it up.... you don't have to say something for a sentiment to show. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks (or the fingers type... lol). I wouldn't go as far as to accuse you of hating gays or anyone else. But I will say that if I were on the receiving end of your words (or if I were a struggling gay believer lurking on LGM and reading this post), I would think there's a little bit of hatred in there somewhere.

It's not the gospel of Jesus Christ that makes gays believe Christians hate them. That's a mistake (and an excuse) a lot of Christians make. It's not the truth of the Word, it's the attitude of the believers. We like to blame demons or devils or their agenda or their internal issues, when really we have a lot more to do with it than we take credit for. Some gays believe Christians hate them because they've been shown hatred by Christians (even when that wasn't our intention). Again: I'm not saying stop sharing the gospel. The gospel (birth, life, death, resurrection) isn't what offends sinners. It's the "US" that we put in there with the gospel. That's the part that messes things up. When we're preaching the truth of Jesus Christ, our own opinions shouldn't even come into play. We're mortal and fallible. We should stick to the gospel and check ourselves to make sure we're doing it with the right attitude.

Too much has been said for me to try to quote and respond, so I'll just say this:

I've been a Christian most of my life, and I've learned one key thing about myself- I'm not qualified to judge anyone about anything.  Moreover, I've learned that the judgement that I mete out will be measured right back to me.  As a result, my position toward anyone is just to love them.  Unconditionally. Period.  The funny thing is, over my adult life, many of the gay friends that I've made came to a full knowledge of the Lord and His will for them, simply as a result of my love toward them.  I didn't preach at them.  I didn't tell them how wrong their lifestyle was.  I didn't debate or argue with them.  I just loved them with the same type of love Christ showed me while I was yet in sin. 

I firmly believe that if we Christians would remember where we came from and remember the love and the mercy and the grace that was shown to us while we were far away from the will of God, and walk in the love that we were COMMANDED to show, then we wouldn't be having this discussion today.
