Protests Against the US Spread Across the Middle-East

All this over a Youtube video?  What are your thoughts about the recent turn of events in the Mid-East?

It seems rather simple to me.

The killers just wanted to kill and the film was a convenient excuse to do so. They bombed a German embassy because of an American film! This just shows that they wanted to attack non-muslims anyway regardless of the film.

Moreover, other cultures get insulted in films all the time! Why should they get a license to kill when their culture is insulted?

Bottom line is this: If thier god was real then they wouldn't have to defend him, he'd be able to defend himself. As Christians we serve the real God who doesn't need us to violently defend him because he said "Be of Good cheer I have overcome the World" (John 16:33)

I have heard the news reports but I'm still kind of confused. Has anyone actually viewed the so-called offensive video?  :-\

I agree with you Manofchrist, it appears that these people were just looking for a reason to kill people.

It seems that a good number of the protesters are unemployed young men who are just frustrated with life and these protests provide an outlet for them to vent.

I tried to watch the video, but it was whack to me. LOL.

Another site I frequent is discussing it. They say that it was a conspiracy. LOL

;).  As a soldier, I'll refrain from saying certain things, but we never have the whole story.

Tried to watch about 2 minutes of it - gave it up at the amateurish quality and lack of production values.
Hard to believe anyone could take it seriously enough to protest.
It would be like christians firebombing a museum over showing something like the "Piss Christ".

But then again when MidEast preachers and media publicize and harp on it during Ramadan...
:(

It doesn't take much to set some people off.  And while this video may have been the catalyst to have ignited these protests, I think we are seeing sort of a mob mentality take effect as anybody with any sort of a grudge against the US and western values have joined in the fray to express their views.  To me this is like going to a club, accidentally stepping on someone's shoe and getting shot for it.

I could not have said it better myself .. in fact I just said as much in another picture posted on FB by a friend of mine.. Can you imagine the uproar if someone made a movie of him in a cave in drag with  ham sandwich and a 40.. WWII for sure.

It seems that a good number of the protesters are unemployed young men who are just frustrated with life and these protests provide an outlet for them to vent.

True that.. but you know this whole thing was planned.. the video came out 2 months ago ... This was all intended to send a message to the U.S.

Considering that our "government" is known for black pops to starts political uprisings, it wouldn't shock me one bit if the republican party didn't hire this dude to even film this video for political means.. Of course this has sense backfired since Romney is now trying to call out Obama equally on the economy and his foreign policy... Just a thought..
