God Bless everyone from what im hearing Roland is phasing out of the workstation scene so if you are looking for the Fantom G series grab one while you can. This now means that Yamaha and Korg are the top dogs in the workstation category, even though we all know the motif is a superior board. ;D

i work at a music store in brooklyn(samash) and i spoke to one of the Roland rep's and they said they were stepping out of that workstation scene, apparently the jupiter50 and jupiter80 are suppose to take over that niche. The way he explained it is pretty cool but its gunna take a while to catch on, The SuperNatural chip is modeling versus the sample based Kronos and Motif. I personally feel they should give the fantom one more chance cuz i cant see a jupiter at anybodies with those colors lol!!!

just for the sake of clarity, the Kronos is samples AND model based... there are 9 engines:

HD-1 High Definish Synthesizer - Sample Based
SDX-1 Premium Piano - Sample Based / (kinda modeled.... depending on who you ask... lol)
EP-1 MDS Electric Piano - Modeled
CX-3 Tonewheel Organ - Modeled
AL-1 Analog Synthesizer - Modeled
MS-20EX Legacy Analog Collection - Modeled
PolysizEX Legacy Analog Collection - Modeled
MOD-7 Waveshaping VPM Synthesizer - Modeled
STR-1 Plucked String Synthesizer - Modeled

wow i didn't know the kronos was so sophisticated. Its a nice board and everything but for $4000 before taxes i could get the Motif XF8 and the Motif Anniversary Pack and squeeze in a 20 piece McNuggets for $5.99 and walk away saying that money was well spent.lol
