The music they want me to play is no challenge.

Alright as a favor I go to a presybetarian church, (the frozen chosen).  They want to sing a whole bunch of songs with that same 1-4-5 6-2-5-1 progression in it, and it's getting old.  Also, no one wants to lead the songs.  It is always me.  that's getting old.

How should I address the issue?

Well if you are the musician, you should be the one getting the music. I know sometimes some choir members want the same old types of songs. I try to get what they want BUT I also play what I want. It is alright to have a variety of songs. You can't please everyone. I feel like sometimes my church doesn't challenge me enough BUT I ease some things in on them and they started liking it. You have to do the same. God will bless you. Trust me. :D

You can address them politely. Just let them know that someone else has to sing sometimes.
I addressed this with my choir once and now everyone wants to lead. I don't have a problem getting leaders. Sometimes some of my choir who can't sing well wants to lead. I get them something simple. Everything will work out. Don't give up.

i think it is a unique position you're in.........always who youre playing for,,,,,,, you said a favor! was it for god or someone else? anyhoo, its not easy playing for people who dont want to change, and still living in past memeories of songs of old.........sort of like and ol spirit.......i can never understand it, god being a god of brand new  mercies, and we offer up the same songs, its an insult to the holy spirit to me!....but i agree with blessedone ( even if it's been yrs since we talked) you should just bow out gracefully and allow someone else to step up to plate.........no one person can do it all.........but no matter what, we play for god!!!!!!!!! he gets the glory!!!!  gieres!!!!!!!!
gieres.....

god is greatly to be praised!!!!!!!!!
