More assistance, please
« on: April 09, 2013, 06:32:51 AM »
Hey LGM,

Do you post lyrics at your church during P&W?  If so, was wondering what you program you all use.  Is there any program where one can upload a song and post the lyrics in the same program?

As always, thanks for the assist.

Yea, that's what we're using now.  But, we have to vacillate between iTunes and Powerpoint (because we don't have musicians, so we use trax).

I was just wondering if there was an easier way to go about it.

Thanks, MM.

We now use ProPresenter because of its advanced video capabilities, but for years prior we used Live Worship and it worked well for us for about 5 years. Plus, it's one of the few if only programs that is written for both Mac OSX and Windows, which was good for us at the time since we were running both platforms (we're now 100% Mac...praise God!).
Like Media Shout and Easy Worship, Live Worship has a lot of features in terms of songs, lyrics, mp3, DVD and video playback and Bibles/scriptures.

We use Song Show Plus. Do a search, I think there was a thread about this a couple of years ago.

You can actually embed audio files into powerpoint rpesentations, but it's a bit of a headache to figure it out.
Yep.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.  Will check them out.

He could probably do that with Open Office if that's the case and its free. :)

PowerPoint is a wonderful program if you're doing business presentations.
For church services, where other media elements are usually integrated into the service and where the dynamics of the service may require more flexibility than just forwarding from slide A to slide B, etc...it's awful.

I thought about that (that's what we're using now).

If they already have Power Point, what's the "point" of using OpenOffice?
You said its a headache in Power Point. Maybe its not in OO.

My church uses EasyWorship.  When I used to do it a few years ago, I sampled Media Shout.  It was pretty cool, but I couldn't get the church to spring for it...
