Tips? Suggestions on Neighborhood Canvassing?
« on: April 12, 2013, 09:25:01 PM »
I'm putting together a little plan to target a neighborhood to canvass.

The point of the canvass is to pass out information about the church I attend and invite people to visit.

But before I get too far I wanted to ask you. Do you have any tips and or suggestions on how to do this?

So far I used the census data to identify the area that had the highest concentration of people similar to members already at my church. Then I chose the one that was the closest and had some of the members of my church who already live in the neighborhood.

I am putting together a simple flyer/door hanger that has relevant information like location time, and church website.

Don't take it personal if you are not accepted by everyone you approach and yea be ye encouraged when faced with opposition knowing for Whom your labor is intended.

May God bless this work.

man already starting to run into road blocks

I wanted to do a survey at my church asking people why they joined. To create like a top ten reasons to come to my church

Didn't expect people to tell me that is a bad idea :( man what does that say

Anyway going two by two ... I think I will do a practice run on my family members to get an idea of how long it takes per house to estimate the number of houses we can cover in a day.

Thank You again everyone got a lot of work to do

1. Make doorhangers/flyers
2. Have a safety/instruction session for volunteers
3. get volunteers (list is not in order)
4. create some sort of data acquistion form to keep track of houses visited and not. I want to make a big map showing we covered x number of houses to invite people.

Two by two. All Luke ch: 9 like. Be invitational, a listener in contrast to being "fervent". Jus' sayin'. The crowds FOLLOWED Jesus . . . His messsage was invitational. Well, except when addressing Pharisees and nasty ol' orks masquerading as forum mods.

*Bro. Charles sees Mystery Man coming and scampers off behind the Leslie.  ;D
