I need some help
« on: July 06, 2012, 03:51:52 PM »
Hello everybody, I'm a trombone & baritone player, but I been playing the piano for a little while trying to help out a small church that has not had a musician for a long time. We sing a lot of Congregational songs and I'm ok with that, but I would like to teach them some other songs that are easy to learn. When I played my trombone & baritone, I didn't have this problem because I just played my horns, but not I have to teach the songs and the choir is filled with old people. I don't have a problem with old people because I love working with them. I even asked them to tell me what songs they like to sing, but only one of them has told me a few songs. Can anybody give me some pointers on what I can teach them and how to do it?

I appreciate your help & may God, in the name of his son Jesus Christ, bless all of you.  :)

One of my favorites:

"When I Rose This Morning" - Mississippi Mass Choir
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;  Colossians 3:23

Hey!

I'm sort of the same situation with a starting ministry and a few choir members. I've been playing piano for over 3 years but I'm open to helpful advice. These songs would be great for Sunday. Thanks ya'll.
