Can anyone explain the C.A.G.E.D. system please? I keep hearing about it but I have no idea what it is. :x

The C.A.G.E.D. system refers to the first position chord shapes of the chords C, A, G, E, and D. One can play these chord shapes but, with necessarily, a different hand grip up the entire neck of the guitar. With each chord shape there is an associated scale fingering. Google "CAGED" guitar system and you'll get the fingerings online. Many different guitar books have it as well. It's just a convenient way of conceptualizing playing scales anywhere on the neck. googled it myself. go to www.cyberfret.com. Has material on different scales, including the CAGED system discussed under major scales.
