Isolate the bass line, helps me a lot
« on: January 07, 2014, 11:32:53 AM »
Found and app called anytune on YT that isolates the bass lines of songs.

Always been struggling to figure out fast gospel runs by ear, had to share this.

Here a video that someone made demonstrating an extracted gospel bass line with the app

Here a video about the app

Get any Bass Track Isolated with app Anytune - works with any bass line on any recording!

Hope this can help someone...

My prayers are answered  :)

Now does this break it down into individual notes?

I use Riff Station for that .. but it is a bit pricey.
Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.

Nice new feature in Anytune, set loops in seconds...

Quickly break apart a song using autoLoop with the Anytune Music Slow Downer app for Mac and iPad

I bought this and with my experience I wouldn't recommend it. All it did was make songs sound like the chipmunks were singing.

Well, all depends on your attitude to bass playing. There is players that try to sound like other famous people...then there is players that borrow melodic & harmonic concept from great players and make it their own with their personal groove, tone and feel. For the first kind I wouldn't recommend the app, because the bass line isolated with anytune sounds like a joyful looney tunes singing it, you won't be able to play along and match your playing exactly to the bass of the original track. For the second kind I highly recommend the app...you hear the song anytuned once and the bass line is burned into your soul. So you can use the rest of your day to make it your own. I'm more the second kind type of player...use it every day.
