Yamaha MOXF8 or Korg Krome 88?
« on: February 02, 2015, 04:28:28 AM »
Maybe I'm answering my own question here but I'm shopping for a new board. I would love to get the higher end Motif board or Kronos board but they're too expensive at this point.

I keep hearing mixed reviews between the MOXF8 and Korg's Krome 88.

I'm mostly looking for great piano sounds and pads. Does the MOXF8 allow you to adjust the volume of pads while layering with piano? I heard the Motif does this with a fader and the MOXF has hardly any faders.

And everyone is telling me the Korg Krome's are not upgradable, and the MOXF8 allows upgrades.

And I'm sort of new to the higher end boards, would I need an amp or speakers like the ROKIT speakers to plug into the board?

Thanks for all the help!

I have not looked too in-depth on those keyboards but if they basically do the same thing and one can be upgraded past the other one I would say get the upgradable one. The first low end professional keyboard I bought was the Roland XP10. I wanted the XP 80. I wish I had waited and saved a little more. I still have that XP10. The XP80 is vintage now.
Vision without action is just day dreaming. I miss practicing.
