We are having a Black History Program this year spear headed by yours truly.  I've been apart of this church for about 8 years and we haven't had one.  So, instead of sitting back complaining about why aren't they doing anything, I finally got off my butt and put together some stuff and submitted it as led by the Spirit.  It was first introduced two years ago but will be manifested this year through some urging.  The vision is to get the youth more active in church while grooming them for public speaking, dance, and singing.
So I'm sitting here learning the "I have a dream" speech.  The older people in the drama department will do a few things when we present the opportunity to the youth.  It just dawned on me that in all these years I've never actually heard the Old Negro Spiritual "Free at Last".   So I'm looking into it now.  If anyone have good ideas for a Black History Program please let me know.  I'm already thinking about what we can do next year.

I'm just getting back home from church and going out to eat.  We had the Black History Program and the youth made me proud enough to almost cry.  When I consider all the obstacles we faced including the fact that if wasn't until February 1st that we got approved to start, I thank God how he showed up and showed out on our behalf.  The kids stepped up when the lights came on despite many shaky practices.  To God be the glory for things he has done, is doing, and about to do.
