Brokeness
« on: October 10, 2015, 08:14:54 AM »
Have you been in a point in your life where you were completely broken? God showed me layers of pride and unforgiveness! I mean stripped down and saw it for what it was! I have.... I humbled myself before Almighty God and found the lense of my eyes were so dirty. He is more loving, faithful and kind than I ever knew.

Restoration is not easy. I find horrible habits and thought processes that I have to change. I see idols that I had to remove. My time for God was scraps! Yes I prayed all the time but I did not make time to fellowship and build up our relationship. How did I drift so far away? How did I neglect my friend?  How did I loose my witness? How did I not trust You? How did I make money my source and not you? How did I live in darkness?

Real talk... have you been broken? What did God show you? I am so overwhelmed by His mercy! My heart thirsts to please Him.

Praise the Lord sister, for most can't see what you have seen (themselves).  I don't know if I've ever been broken per say, but I have examined myself from time to time and found myself coming up short of what is expected of me.  I also get the opportunity to examine myself when the Word goes forth.  It is almost impossible to live a life pleasing to God w/o honestly applying 2 Corinthians 13:5.

So I wrote a whole post and don't know what happened... but yeah... been there... in a similar situation recently.  Thank God for his love and concern for us to show us and correct us.

I hate it did not show up! Thank you both for responding! I am alike trusting God for every second:) it has been hard but rewarding to see His love!!! Walking each day and saying " don't know how this will turn out, being mistreated by people and not lashing back because you have told me to hold my peace" God help us to stand!

I came to the revelation that trust in God is the only thing you have when everything boils down some years back. I tell my wife this all the time. I did a lot of thinking about how trusting in a good pension plan or IRA is no guarantee that you will be alright in the long term. If you trust in worldly goods you are setting yourself up for a fall. I may have posted this a while back. Some people have come to that reality recently here in SC during these floods. I trust in God to supply my needs and he has. I got tired of being at the low points long time ago. lol. Once I realized God is at the end of all things I changed my attitude. I try not to complain and do what I need to everyday. I'm not fully where I should be but I'm striving. I think if we all could remove our trust from things we would be better off. I don't want to be out on the street but I can't let that break me. If we are willing to work and follow the God no matter what state we are in he will work it out every time.
Vision without action is just day dreaming. I miss practicing.

I feel like I'm in a season of brokenness, but I believe it's maturing me for what God is going to do in and through me and my family.

Hey sis, just reading your reply... You know what's so crazy though, people that listen and do it God's way, those are the people he fights for... I think you'll be amazed in the end.
