Interesting. I live in Detroit and have played at a number of churches here. N-E-V-E-R heard that term before. Don't know what would make it different from a traditional shout. Simplest variation of that would be to do very fast chromatic steps. If you start on the root, go down an octave below the 3, and then walk chromatically.
So, for example, if it is in Db, start with the 4th fret on the A string, then go to the 1st fret on the E string. Then the 2nd, then the 3rd, then the 4th, then the 1st fret on the A string, then the 2nd, then the 3rd, then you're back to Db (4th fret A string). Rinse and repeat. Then you just riff off of that to change it up every now and then.
