problems with Hezekial lift him up
«

I am having problems playing Hezekial's song Lift him up. I can play all the parts, except the part when they say Come on Praise him because it's doing that run. Is there another way to play it without the run? I feel like a failure. I am not very good with runs. Can someone give a suggestion? Thanks.

You could play it without the run, but it would sound kind of empty. The run is a basic Db Run (Db-F-Gb-G-Ab-Bb-B-C-Db)
RH chord - BEbFAb
I hope this helps.
GOD BLESS

I suspect that you may mess up because of the speed. Try practicing only that part with the run, but do it very slow. Slow it down to the point where you don't mess up, or at a tempo where you can consciously think about the rhythm in both hands. When you get it down at the slowed down speed, then gradually increase your tempo. I would suggest trying to play it through 3 times in a row perfectly before increasing the tempo to make sure you got it. It will take some work, but it will be well worth it in the long run and you will find that it may help you in other fast songs and you right-hand/left-hand independence in general. Be Blessed!

A small suggestin. If you are playing this on an organ (hammond ), just play your chord with your right hand and utilize the foot pedal to enhance what your left hand would be doing without playing your left hand just for that part.

I am playing it on a digital keyboard. I will keep practicing it very slow until I can get it. I will just practice it very slow everyday. I guess, I have not been challenged in a while. That part in the song is challenging me now.

Another option is to play some chords like (LH/RH)
(F B / Eb Ab Db) or (Ab Db / B Eb F Ab)
and bounce the chord around and walk up B-C-Db at the beginning of each time you repeat the song.
