Any lessons for an old guy who wants to play again?
« on: April 14, 2005, 09:30:45 PM »
Hello Everyone!  This is my first post on your site.  Maybe you can help me.  I played guitar 30++ years ago in what was then called "garage rock."  You know, 3 chords.  I've been getting back into the guitar with the ultimate goal of being part of my church's contemporary worship service. I'm searching the internet for lessons (preferably free) to use my semi beginner talent with my 12-15 chord repetoire and do something with it.  I want to learn to do runs between chords,  improvise etc.  Nothing fancy.  No lead type stuff.  Just a easy but solid rhythm.  To do something besides pounding out a I-IV-V rhythm. Is there such a thing available? What I'm finding is more heavy metal, power chords and things that are not where I'm at or could do even if I wanted to..  I'm also past the days of "Louie, Louie", "Wipe Out" and "Wild Thing". Looking forward to hearing from you.  Blessings and Peace!       Dave
