Thanks for the find and post..I found the preference about the tom's being birch shells and bass drum maple shell with a steel snare very interesting. I'll have to try that out sometime.

Good find J_Funky. Someone and I was building with mentioned how musicians need to play to records more.  Definitely will do more of it...

...absolutely.  Playing with records is what every drummer should be doing.  It is a great way to develop your time and musical awareness.

Sidenote:  Do you all know that Steve Gadd's Signature kit is $10,000. :o :o

$10G's ?/? I wouldn't pay more than $4500.00. Nice kit, but not worth $10,000

Loved the interview.

I saw the kit in person last week. I am a huge fan but $10k is too much for no gold or platinum. The tooms have a black finish in the interior, black die-cast hoops, 14" deep kick. It ships with all the hardware you see in the pix. For 10k Steev needs to give private lessons at the crib, take on tour and pass on his mantle  ;D.

The Neil Pert kit exclusive to Guitar Center is $30,000 and comes with cymbals, gold hardware yada-yada.

Some folks don't even life insurance policies for these amounts... ;)
