Yo I go to Paula White's Church! It's pretty cool except the music wasn't as tight as I thought it would be before I decided to go there. Anyway, I've been trying to play the set there for some months now. They're swimmin' in drummers right now (four of us including me, plus some new dude that's been showing up lately). I'm thinking about finding another church where I'm able to submit my gift fully. I just want to serve God with what I do. Holla at me if any of you Floridian drummers have any ideas. By the way, I know Third; he's a cool cat. He plays at church out here called Triumphant Fellowship. The few times I've got to listen to him he killed (real humble cat though). Holla at me peeps. Yo DW let me know exactly when you're coming so I can be in the spot.

Third went to the Finals of the Guitar Center Drum Off last year. Look for him again this year guys... times a tickin'. Though I think Jonathan Davis may be his bump in the road.

Jonathan Davis is an awesome drummer, I am going to try and post some clips of him on here in a few weeks. He is also building a web site and he has put out a cd you can check it out on cdbaby http://cdbaby.com/cd/jonathandavis.

He sent me the EP with the first 5 songs in early 2005. We first met 2 years ago and exchanged numbers.

He is a force to be reckoned with. The CD doesn't do justice. The Florida District Finals last year was a once in a lifetime performance (Even Third thought that Jonathan won)... and this year I know he will take to another level.
When I saw he reading his solo a couple years ago before he went on I knew then that there was trouble coming for the rest of the competitors. JD.D. had it written out hit for hit... hat, cymbals - full chart.

He did put on a serious show that night didnt he Sabe? That just goes to show you that everyone doesn't judge on talent/skill alone, which I don't understand completely.

A few of my friends take lessons from him and they was telling me that anything he does he writes it out and keeps it in a folder.  He is an excellent teacher very thorough teaches all of his students how to read and write what they are playing.

The judges got intimidated. He was doing stuff that thye could not dream of inall their 30 years of experience. I have seen it happen before. THeir was also a bit of home town favoritism going on but the judges really could not judge what J.D. did. THey couldn't wrap their heads around it. Quite frankly.

...C'mon D, how can you forget? :o  Remember the guy that was playing the left foot clave and the Aux. snare and would jump back to the rest of the kit and play the main kick pedal with his left foot and all of that?  The guy that started off with a blind fold?  Jonathan D. was just doing some crazy things that the judges couldn't understand.  Not taking anything away from Third's performance, but Jonathan did it that night and he knows it.  That's the crazy part. 8)

...hey Praise, where you at last years drum off finals in Tampa when "Third", "JD" and "Joe" blew the comp. away?  If you weren't, you missed it.  These gentlemen really made me think differently about playing the drums, that's for sure. :-\

No I was unable to make it, but I heard about it.  But I can only imagine what it was like, JD is a beast, and Third is the truth, don't think I know Joe, where is he from?
