On of my biggest hang up with this progression I use to have is:
What quality chord are you suppose to use?? Should it be a Minor, Dominant, Minor7b5, etc...
Well, I finally found out that you can make it anything you want.
Some (breakable) rules to this is:
Major Progression
2 with be minor
5 with be dominant
1 and will be major
Minor Progression
2 will be a minor7b5
5 will be dominat
1.Minor
or you could just go
2 - Dominant
5 - Dominant
1 - dominant
You just have to find what sounds good to you.
