:P  The only problem I have here (chording with the left hand) is remembering to either change the drawbars ... or play another octave higher so as not to get a muddy, bass sound in my chords.  What are some good drawbar settings.  Speaking of which, where do most of you play with the left hand?  L.H: Upper manual R.H.: Lower manual? Or vice versa?

I play with the lower manual, but sometimes the higher manual, if I feel like going up their at that time. I usually just play both hands lower manual, is that bad or something? should i use the higher manual also?

I play normally the lower manual.  I use the upper manual for bass notes in combination with the foot pedals.  Or I use the upper manual when I feel like adding percussion. The reason I asked is because the other day I saw a "veteran (I think)" playing bass notes in the lower manual and chords and runs in the upper.  I used to play that way when I first started 25 years ago ....  I my opinion, what ever works for you is cool ....

so you've been playing organ for along time.....you are a advanced organists i assume. So, when you first started, hot did you get the footpedals down? but about the manuals.....I like the lower manual, but I have no problems with the top, sometimes I go to the top, if I want to add in a nice bassline. But about that veteran.....that may be a good strategy that he uses. :D

 Not as advanced as I should be .... LOL
I started playing piano in church when I was 10 or so ... Around 13, I started "playing at" the organ.  I used to watch my friend Moses Tyson, Jr. play when we were kids and he amazed me.  I stopped playing organ when I joined the military in '83.  After that I mainly played keyboards and directed / did workshops.  I just started back playing the organ full time 5 years ago; that's why Ilove this website and all of you talented folks.

The foot pedals:  In a nutshell, it's all about practice ... practice ... practice!!! I'm still working on it myself (the speed) and trying not to hit the wrong pedal.  Some of my friends actually take their shoe off to play.

 well hello there anywayz my name is Dee and I find it so much more easyer to play with my left shoe off it might just be because I have a big foot and I just find it to be more simpler because you see my cousin plays and she is so much more younger than me and she finds it to be easyer with her shoe on.
