I cant speak for for the John Peters Dvd but, I have both of PJ Organ DVDd and personally like his "Chords and Runs" DVD better than his "Organ Master Class" Dvd (the one with the chord booklet). With "Chords and Runs" he explains more in depth (Chord Progressions and Runs). With his "Organ Master Class DVD"  it is just a bunch of mini lessons put on a DVD.

It depends on where you are already. The ultimate Organ DVD is for intermediate players from what i hear.

The John Peters DVD is very advanced.

That's a tough decision I like John Peters playing a little more than I like P. J. Morgan"s so I would go with John's.  But I heard P. J.'s teaches more stuff and is easier to apply to your playing right away.

PJ Morgan is sick and sound in theory BUT John Peters is playing something out of this world! I checked out a 10 minute organ solo he was doing on another site.....His left hand is crazy...I don't even have to mention the right hand...That DVD will be in my Ps2 as soon as it drops!  :D

Dont get me wrong PJ is nice.  I got the ultimate DVD organ from PJ morgan,  But John Peters is on another level.  I saw a clip from a music workshop that he was in and he had some of the most complex runs and chords ive ever seen.  If you get his dvd check out as he plays his computer "robot" shout music.

I would get the PJ Morgan DVD first and study it for a while. Then I would get the John Peters DVD later on down the line. Peters is a monster but I don't think he is very accesible to beginning and intermediate level players.

I agree with all of you.  P.J. is an awesome musician, but you can hear what he does and where he is going a lot easier than what John does. John Peters took it to another level at the GMWA last month! 8O He is nasty, and it seems as though he is still getting better and better.  If you can play half of the stuff he does, then you are on your way.  He may be the most talented gospel organist out there other than Butch Woodie(I can't seem to leave that name alone :) ).  I would get both P.J. and John DVDs to add variety to your playing style.

it's a tough decision (why not get both??)

The reason I would get both is because what happens, ( GOD FORBID ) if John does not want to partner with wheatworks and you can not get it. or Vice Versa.

This happened to me in regards to the Robert Stephans,  He was more on the Jazz end but had a lot of creative things to show.  And his theory was off the chain.  I only got one of his videos and wish I would have got the other.

This is what we should do... I know that Robert Stephens or someone on this forum knows him.  Let's contact him and ask does he have any that I could buy.  If not I can get his address and once we confirmed that it is him, I pay him either to send me a copy that he has, or pay him for you to send me a copy.

This way he still get his royalties for his hard work.  I will never try to cheat a man of GOd for his hard work.

Actually, I thought that the Robert Stephens series was the best, in terms of actual content that I've ever seen.  If we can get enough support for the series, I know we could get it back.
