Post by: michaeln on September 20, 2005, 12:29:28 PM
Somebody please help!  There's a song titled "I'll go" I'am not sure of the artist or the lyrics.  Any information would be a blessing.

The only song I know of called "I'll Go" is by Twinkie Clark and she performed it w/ the Florida A&M Gospel Choir back in 97. Did it have two guys singing in it? If so, thats your song. One of the guy's name was Byron Stephenson, who wrote the song. (VERY, VERY good song writer). He also wrote "I Won't Complain" w/ Karen-Clark Sheard. That song was also performed with the FAMU Gospel Choir. The other guy singing was a student. I have that concert on DVD. You should check it out on amazon.com. Its amazing to hear the complex chords and progressions they were using back then.

BTW, the song is in E Flat.

Does it start off upbeat, with these lyrics:

I know the harvest is ripe
But the laborers are few
You need someone who will work
And labor til the day is through

I hear Your call, Lord
If You want someone to go
Lord, I'll go

If You want someone to go
I'll go.

If anyone has the chords to that song I'd love to have them, too!

Be Blessed

There was also one back in the early 90's called I'll Go by a choir called Rapture

It starts out with:
Where he leads me I will follow  3X
I'll go with him, with him all the way

On a mountain top or in the valley low
I'll go
Here am I Lord
Here am I lord
Here am I
I'll go-----oooo       3X

I'll go  3X
Send me Lord I'll go----oooo
I'll go----ooo

That's the song I was thinking of, I just didn't know who sang it.

Sorry guys for such a later response,  I'm not sure you sang the song.  My Pastor sand several sundays ago and it seem so power that I wanted to learn to play it.  Did anyone have luck with the chording of the song?  Maybe it would be helpful if "I" knew the exact title and and artist.
