I am still getting string buzz on the guitar, but now through the amp.  Is this normal???

String buzz is normal, if there is a problem.

1. The cause could be a few things though, your action could be too low for your setup.

2. Your frets may not be level.

3. You may be fretting incorrectly.

You'll have to shed some more light into what exactly is going on....

Questions?
How much space is there between your strings and the neck of your bass?

Do the strings have an even incline toward the bridge? (Do one or more frets stick up higher than others?)

Where are you placing your fingers, on the frets, when you play?
