HAVING A PROBLEM WITH IMPROV (I THINK). MY PLAYING SOUND DRY TO ME. I'M REALLY HAVING A HARD TIME WITH PLAYING FILLS OR SINGLE NOTES ALONG WITH MY CHORDS.
EXAMPLE: IN THE KEY OF F. I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MOVING FROM F (2ND INVERSION) TO E, BACK TO F, AND THEM Bb7. BUT SOMETHING IS MISSIN IN THE PROGRESSION. IT SOUNDS AS IF NOTES FROM THE SCALE OR CHORD SHOULD BE PLAYED. (MAYBE AS A BROKEN CHORD).
SO I GUESS MY QUESTION IS...HOW DO I JAZZ UP THE SOUND? AND IS THERE A RULE?
EXAMPLE : IF I'M PLAYING CHORDS I, IV, V SHOULD I PLAY THE NOTES IN THE CHORD I'VE JUST PLAYED OR THE ONES IN THE NEXT CHORD?
IF YOU CAN PLEASE POST AN EXAMPLE.
ONE LOVE.

Hello Dezire,
Its all in how you want to approach the chord your wanting to go to. For example. If your in the key of F as you mentioned and you want to go to your Bb which doesn't have to be a Bb7 you can approach it by a chromatic walk from Adim on the and count then to your Bb on the 1 or the 3 count or you can do the 2-5-1 of the Bb which is 2=Cmin 5=F then land your 1=Bb and that would dress it up some..... Hope that helps... and please do ask if you would like some more insight.....

Thanks Bronzee.....
Here is a similar basic example...... in the Key of F
L/R
F/CFA
E/CEG
this next chord is what I would use to walk chromaticaly into the D which is the 6 of the F scale
Db/BbDbEG
D/ACF
Now here is the 2-5-1 of Bb I was talking about
C/EbGBbD
F/EbGBbC
Bb/DFBb
A/CFA
G/BbDF
C/CDEG
then it repeats.........
Hope that helps.........
God Bless you,

(2) C/GBbE
(5) F/GBbEb
(1)Bb/ADF
(2-5-1 in G min)
(2) A/CEG
(5) D/ACF#
(1) G/BbDF
(5-1 walk up in C)
(5) G/BbDF
(6) A/GCE
(b7) Bb/BbDF
(7) B/(G)BDF
(1) C/GBbDF, E
F/GBbDbF

Okay ya'll.........I just got confused! I was with ya'll when you were talking about going from F to Bb but after that I got lost. I see what's going on in the left hand, but how do you get the chords in the right hand?
Perplexed but not in despair.......

J-zee I understand your write up but, Jonathan I dont understand yours. Thanks. I am just learning the numbers and theroy now..this is the reason iam trying to learn the number system. The copy of J-zee sheet music there was no bass clef there and in reading sheeting music his copy was like reading "fake music" a musician can use there own bass chords if they wish. But for the people that write chorded forms here..they figure this out with the number system. So give me some time..I am sure I will come around and understand it. Bless ya.

Db/BbDbEG looks like it's Dbdim7. The right hand notes are from that chord. He's using that chord as a chromatic passing chord into the D/ACF chord.

Ok, Bronzee, you're gonna make me feel like I'm up there with the big boys & girls T-Block, DDWE, Key-Wiz, JoyCh, etc.
Basically, I'm using the number system in between the notes. The number system (such as 2-5-1, which, in reality, in all I'm doing in the one spot) to try and give these chords "more" umph.
*side bar* Playhear, thanks for helping to explain where I'm going in the post *end side bar*
In Jayzee's post he gave you a 2-5-1 going to Bb. After that, Jayzee begins a 3-2-5-1 chord progression to get you back to F.
In my post, after Jayzee's 2-5-1, I incorporated a 2-5-1 going to G, using the A, but instead of playing an inverted F chord in the right hand, I play an A minor chord to start my 2-5-1 in G. Now, stay with me.
After the G, I do what's called a "5-1 walk-up" in the key of C. (Big shout-out to ALGIERES for that piece of knowledge) and then I take it back to F.
I'm probably talking this thing to death, so if anyone can explain it easier, please help me.
Be Blessed
Jonathan

There is really only three chords or triads that are used on the right hand and then those chords are simply inverted to give a variation....then eventually add to for a fuller sound
Remember this if you know all your inversions for the 1,4&5 of the key your are playing in you can basically play any song you want....
If you want to take your playing a little higher learn you 1,4&5 of the 1,4&5 of the key you are playing in.....
I'm on my break right now..... but i can really break it down further later....
God BLess you,
jayzee
