Normally don't post outside the bass forum, but I fell in love with bass the moment I knew that could here bass lines and potentially be one of the greatest bassist ever.  It's just a cool instrument.  I have a Oak BTB 1206 with mahogany fret board and racing strips.  6 string of course, top of the line Ibanez bass.  I named her Renee after my wife, it's that serious...

My first time around I wasn't very successful playing the organ. I mean I was good enough to get by but I really didn't know much about the organ. So I quit for a while. Then I started digging in our old archived tapes and we used to have an organ player at our church (she's since gotten married and moved away) that could make that thing sing. I realized she was using bass pedals so she could free up her left hand for the leslie swtich and left hand chords. This really inspired me to learn the pedals. So I eventually did and a year and a half later, people keep telling me they can't get enough of hearing me play that organ.

Learning about the instrument really helps you learn to play it better IMO.

Well for me it was at one of our services when I was about 14 years old. This choir came and sung "We lift our hands in the Sanctuary" by Kurt Carr and this was when the song first came out. I mean the group was boping and i happened to look up and it was a 15 year old guy playing for them. I fell in love with music that very second because I was so inspired to play. I mean i stood up the entire service wacthing this young cat play and I was transformed into a b3 lover and I been playing it ever since.
