Title: What is Marvin Sapp Doing!!!!?????

Okay, I have never heard a bass line as complex and  simple as the baseline in "ONE THING".  Have you all heard this?  It is like 2 conflicting notes being played for each chord.  I think the bass player was playing in a different key.  If anyone has a theory on this please let me know.   :?:

Me and a friend of mine were talking about that one day.  He has seen the DVD and he said that he's playing on a synth bass.

I know what you mean, but from what I can tell the bass line is forming some of the 7th chords in the accompaniment.
