What up yall, what is a good organ bass pedal excersize?
-
the best exercise i have found is to just play what you would play in a service
use a metronome or drum machine to make sure you stay in time and play your bass lines that you usually play with your left hand
then add your left and right hands
transpose it
play a 1-6-2-5-1-followed by 3 3-6-2-5-1 then go back to the 1-6-2-5-1-
add half step approach tones then use hallf step from above approach tones
some people say play scales with your feet some say play progressions with your feet
hey do both
but always use a metronome or drum machine
i started out playing whatever my left hand was doing but i found that you still have to put time in just playing bass lines
if you dont have any bass lines start with some simple shout lines or blues lines or pick up rufus reids evolving bassist and practice his etudes they are great for helping you improvise with your feet the lines are simple but rhythmically interesting and you will be surprised how yourfeet will start to have an independent and supporting role in your music
the lesson is that there is no master secret most likely the left hand lines you alreaady play are good enough to challenge your feet
the most important thing you can do is buy a metronome and take it you your church organ 9IF YOU DONT HAVE ONE AT HOME AND 0
and turn it on to a slow setting and practice your lines feet alone until you can do it without mistakes
then increase the tempo

- These drills are for left-foot-only playing.
- Play all these patterns ascending and descending (UP AND DOWN).
- Make sure you sit in the same place on the bench every time.
- Make notes connect as much as possible, no silence in between.
- Don't look down at the pedals unless you absolutely have to.

You can do even larger intervals too, but for gospel, the above ones ought to orient your foot quite well. And I presumed here that you wanted to know how to train the feet first, that is, before you tried putting them with your hands. Hope I read the post correctly. Contact me with any questions.

steve you mad man you
those drills are hot thorough and complete you hit all the main bass moves with that one good advice on the sitting at the same place every time
i heard sebastian mention sitting with your knee over the g pedal
anyway i am going to try these drills myself from what I know about theory and drills these should really make playing the pedals a lot smoother
God Bless
