Title: urgent advice needed!!!!!!!
Post by: earlk on December 12, 2005, 04:59:14 AM
Hey yall: woke up this morning and God is still on tha throne everything is great!!!!!!!!!!

I need some urgent advice. okay here is the thing
1. -sequecing can some1 define this for me please

2.- i dont have a percussionist so i do tha percussion worx on my roland spd20. this ties my left hand down because i either play the extra boom bass drum sounds between my right foot and double pedal to the electric kick and my dj scrathes and stuff with my left hand.

Is there a machine that i can record these beats (using the SPD20) into then line it out to the PA and play along with these using a click.

The best example i can get to is the isreal dvd. the medley between I'm trading my sorrows and Lord you are good : has the intro with whats sounds like a cd with different beats and hand claps and stuff and then the band joins in later.

i am starting out with a new band and i would like to have a separte machine with this "programmed drums or percussion"

what would i look for how do i get started? what do need?

You could try the MPC1000. Give a call to your local Guitar Center and pose the question if you don't receive an immediate response from here. I know this has been discussed before.

I have an MPC 2000xl and it is used for that when i play!

Any MPC would work more than great!

or... make beats/sequences and load them into your itunes and the into your ipod and take your ipod to your gig! I do that for small gigs!

Seems like that is becoming the norm thes days... Keith Carlock used one at his clinic for tracks... One of the guys on the MD 20005 DVD was using it. Keith says he likes it because it doesn't break down like dats do.

I have got to get one ASAP.
