So which snare (size wise) do y'all prefer for gospel?
-
(sorry) if y'all had to choose one snare to play for gospel (based on size and shell type), what would you choose? :D
-
i would use and plan on getting something 13x5, 6, or 7 either wood bronze or copper. i'll most likely end up with all three materials.
but i don't think i will ever buy a pro snare bigger than 13"
the only snare i've owned that was bigger came with the set.
personal preference and comfort.- i don't like the snare being too close.
-
i use a Pearl Piccolo 3" x 13" its small and compact just right for my flow!![[/img]

I have to make a public apology for my review on the Joey Jordison snare. I gave it a very bad review, which was 100% completely my fault due to lack of tuning skills. I had a good drummer/mentor friend of mine tweak it.
Took him a good 45 minutes. He gave it back to me and I can honestly say it's the best snare I've played.
I love hitting the thing, it has a perfect sound for my tastes. I tuned it up soooo horribly, man ya'll, LEARN TO TUNE YOUR DRUMS. You can make your stuff sing if you put time into learning it. This guy made my drum EXACTLY the way I want any snare to sound. It feels so good to hit. He got such a perfect sound from it, I am scard just to buy new heads because I don't want to ruin it.
What does it sound like?
Well, it's dynamic at this tuning range is incredible. It's at the exact volume I would want it. It has a SICKKK pop, with a tone that any drummer would love.
I don't think I would ever want a different sound than the one it is giving me right now. I've tried it in several rooms, completely different accoustics and it sound AWESOME!
