Title: Slow Songs
Post by: musician_organist on January 03, 2006, 10:51:31 PM
Hi, listen.  I am sort of used to the piano, so I don't play full bass with my pedals.  I really rely on my left hand as far as bass is concerned.  However, if I'm playing a slow song, I don't want to make the song sound too harsh.  Maybe it's just the drawbar setting that I use.  But other than that, my left hand feels like it has nothing to do.  If my left hand could play bass without just hitting one note, then I'd be fine.  Can anyone give me any suggestions?

Push thr 3rd and 4th draw bar in a little on your base setting.  Start all songs off mellow and build with draw bars as the song goes on.

Also, start using the pedals.  You find time to practice outside of church (which is usually difficult) or you can learn during service when nothing is going on (make sure the pedals have no volume).  This will allow you to play chords with both hands or play chords with your left hand and do runs with your right.

God bless.
