Title: Let's Shout : Breaks
Post by: B3Wannabe on February 20, 2004, 12:46:10 PM
Here are some breaks that I do:

1) Jeopardy

C\Eb,Ab(high)
F\Eb,Ab(low)
Bb\Eb,Ab(high)
Eb\Eb

2) Catdog

...\Eb
B,Gb,B\Gb
...\Ab
B\...
Ab,Eb,Ab\Eb

3) Old McDonald (I'll just post the bass for this one, since everyone should know the melody.)

Ab-C-Db-C-Bb-Eb-Ab

4) Sonic-the-Hedgehog

This one, I play the normal 1-5 bass with the melody from the bonus round on sonic.

I come out of all of them by doing a 2-5-1. I'll make a video later.

This is pretty cool!  I have heard some musician's playing some cartoon music once.  I also heard some things like the theme for Andy Griffin show.  I want to see the video so I know how you fit it in to your breaks.

There are certain popular breaks I use.

Jeopardy
Green Acres
Inspector Gadget
Beat It (Michael Jackson)
Chips Ahoy Commercial

It's not always wise to use such breaks, but you can fit it in SOMETIMES.  Don't sacrifice the shout for sillyness.

Yea. I don't do 'em all the time neither. I throw them in rarely; mostly,  I play around with the 2-5-1.
