anybody from Louisiana ever heard of the town of DeRidder?
-
yeah, I'm from Pineville, Louisiana. I'm one of the 3 keyboardists that play for Zion Hill Baptist Church.
-
Zion Hill sounds familiar, I go to Mount Zion, U heard of that?
-
DeRidder.........sounds Dutch!
-
FAR, FAR from Dutch lol, but yea I play for Mt. Zion Baptist Church
-
Yeah, I have been to DeRidder. Many many moons ago. A high school playoff game if I am not mistaken. Never gone to church down there though.
-
I've definitely heard of DeRidder...it's like 2nd home to me. I go to school in Lake Charles, and DeRidder is about 45 minutes north of where I am.
-
kaston, who do you play for?
-
I was playing for the youth choir at Sweet Home B.C. last semester, but had to stop b/c I'm doing "academic suicide" this semester (22 hours).
-
I know you man I've heard you play several times. I played with you at that funeral and I play for the singin Conventions. I play for Mt. Zion! (My brother plays tha drums, he's 19, I'm 15>)
-
Oh, you must be talking about Mr. Sammy Childs' funeral :) I had to take it back to the N.O. for that one...I look at funerals like this: just because the person is dead doesn't mean the service has to be. :D
-
yeah, we wrecked dat funeral, until that man came in and rained on our parade. but I think I'm gettin better everytime I play, dat's wut it feels like (don't get me wrong, I'm not conceited) but I'm gettin better now and we have a singin convention Saturday. I'm surprised I saw somebody on the site that even knew of DeRidder!
-
Yeah, Corey was tellin me about the convention...I might come down and check it out
-
Saturday, we did good. Our choir was really young but we did very very well to have that age group. Now I know what it feels like to play and direct for the first time lol. But Corey helped me out a whole lot. That's my boy!
