If you play by ear you might want to visit http://www.hymnsite.com. This site contains a collection of all of the Hymns in the United Methodist Hymnal. The words are listed along with a demonstration of how the song sounds.

Note that these songs are played in the key as they appear in the United Methodist Hymnal. In addition they are played straight; no fancy stuff. You may be surprised at how 'Black Folk' have hooked these songs up over the years.
