I have been playing keyboard at my new church for 5 to 6 months now. I bring my own, Yamaha DGX-202. I believe for a while I was using a bass amp, then we switched, and then we switched again. I told one of the bass players about my concerns, and he informed me that the amp I have IS a keyboard amp..
My problem is, when I have it on piano I am getting how do you say...a nasty sound...at least I think so. So if it really is a keyboard amp, what can I do to get better sound?...Or Is it just my keyboard $300 keyboard??

What kind of amp you have? the tryp of amp makes a difference.

How many watts is the amp?

It's a Peavy amp...I believe it's 150 watts.

Just a suggestion: Try changing the keyboard voice to accoustic or grand piano, or layer the piano voice with an electric piano voice ( if your board is capable of that function). Also check the delay setting on your board...too much delay can make it sound "nasty" in my opinion.
