Title: what am I playing??

I am a gospel singer so I can pick up things by ear but what do I need to know to find out what chords I am playing or how do I find chord names

If you're already familiar with notes, pitches, chords and intervals then all you have to do is learn how to translate what you know to how the guitar is laid out.
Getting the guitar properly tuned and learning the open string notes is the first thing you should do and then move on to basic chords and so on.
