Why do'nt visiting bass players bring their own equipment with them, if thyey know they need it. They complain or talk about your equipment when they use it. Why is that.
-
I bring my equipment wherever I play. I don't care if I'm crossing state lines, I bring my equipment. I do this because I don't know what someone else has and I'm more comfortable playing out of my own cabs. I kinda don't want other people playing out of my cab because everyone doesn't play like me. They may eq there sound different than mines and cause problems so when and if someone uses my cabs, I'm right with them. I do sometimes play out of someone else cab if I truly know them and I know what they have. But 99.9% of the time I have my own equipment.

I only take my bass, cabs are nothing, I'll play out of any cab or setup there is. Sometimes if I'm in a mood to carry those heavy cabs I'll do it, but for the most part to save my back I'll use the house setup and deal with whatever I got.

i hate having to take my gear to a church outing, mainly because i will most likely do only two or three numbers. on the other hand if it is for a concert i wll definetly come properly equipped. i dont mind a visiting bassists using my gear, but will stay close just in case they dont respect my gear.

i take my equipment when i visit other churches mainly because not all churches have a bass player so i don't know if they have equipment or not.

I only take my bass when I know the other church has equipment, If it's not the best of stuff I'll just deal with it because I'll only play 2 or 3 songs. But its a gig I'll take my own. Cabinets get heavy after a while and the way people are nowadays they won't give you a hand to help you out.
